Getting Started!

Postby Alan Brown on April 6th, 2009, 11:02 am

Welcome to The Composer Collective!

This area will help people get started on projects after they have registered and obtained teamscore permissions (viewtopic.php?f=26&t=25).

* Once you have your account registered and all of your permissions the first thing you want to do is check out the projects and learn more about them. Once you have decided on a project that you'd like to start working on, you will need to properly fill out the NDA for that project and send it to admin@thecomposercollective.com and an Administrator will send you the password to access the project.

* After you receive your password, it will allow you access to the project you have decided to work on. That password will only allow access to that project. Use the password to access forum and unrar mov. files (in some instances).

* Now you that you have downloaded the movie and taken a look at it, you will want to read through the relevant threads for that project to get as much information about the musical direction the film is taking. You want to be on the same page as everyone else who may be writing cues for the same film. Continuity is crucial.

* In most cases, the films will have spotting notes which will indicate the Timecode or area where music is needed. You should pick a cue and get started immediately.

* Once you have do so, let the score supervisor know you're in and he/she will make sure your cue gets to the level the project managers and directors would like it at.

Good luck to you all!
