The Composer Collective

The Composer Collective currently has on it's plate an independant feature film with a story revolving around some aging mobsters. The music budget is going to be between $15000 and $25000. Anyone wishing to submit for the job, is welcome to ask for the three clips to spec demo to. Deadline for submissions is July 7th. Just wanted to let our members know that we will be sending an opportunity email in the next 3 weeks for a decent indie film. The musical budget to be in the $15000-20000 range. It will require writing 3 spec cues. Those interested should set aside some time in the next 3 weeks to work on this.

Acceptance, tolerance, and perhaps having an open mind is all that one needs as their criticism tools. Unless the person is doing someone else harm, or if they are putting themselves at more harm than they are aware, then you(society) don't need to intervene.

As George Carlin said: "In the future, when we finally get over racism, bigotry, and everyone is purple, red, and brown ... then we'll have to hate people for who they truly are."

Movies are no better than radio. Radio's content is not music. The MUSIC is just the "commercials" so the real content can be heard in between (the ads). And movies are just actor delivery devices. People don't see movies because of the stories. They just see whatever movie their trusted idol has endorsed this time. It's a giant product endorsed by gamble-holics (actors who got lucky).

Outside of that jaded view, there actually can be found some art in movie making. And those are the only films I care about. Films and film scores that are innovative, and progressing the art. If we ever squash the ability to express movies artistically we'll have completed the loop on Capitalism and become worth only what energy we're willing to give up to those who will take it. Capitalism is mean. It punishes the weak and rewards the strong. It's just an excuse to be an asshole. But while we're TRAPPED in a society, born into capitalism, we have to spend 90% of our lives scrambling to keep our loved ones alive, and healthy, in "the system". And a lot of us are nuts enough to think that MONEY is what makes one healthy (mentally, physically, and spiritually). We've been squeezed so tight into scrambling into compliance, that we can barely eek out any deep meaning from our life INTO art anymore.

Art is what connects us to the eternal life force. It helps us realize how we should think, what we should care about, who should be important to us. Anyone who is a lover of art (free expression) is doing a part in making the universe a peaceful place.

DO MORE ART ... LESS CAPITALISM.

Bryan Arata has been assigned as Music Preperation, and Gustav Greely as Orchestrator, on "Love Conquers Paul".

Saho Kim has been assigned as Music Editor on The Composer Collective project "Skeletons In The Desert", a horrifying feature film.

We are holding Class # 9 "Writing Your First Cue, Part I" at 3:30pm Thursday May 22nd, 2008. This is a free class as we're alpha testing the course for this summer's Master Class Series. Under the direction of lead composer, Matt Gates, scoring is complete for "Seal Team 6", a feature film. The Composer Collective assisted in providing additional music from the following members of our team: David Beard, Michael Dobbins, David Klotz, and Andrew Silagy.

Additionally Andrew Silagy performed Music Editing and Preston Shepard recorded and participated in producing live Brass and Percussion.

The Composer Collective recieved a call this morning to help provide a last minute emergency placement of a song for a Major Motion Picture coming soon to theatres. Our standard OPPORTUNITY email has been sent to all members of our email list. The provider will recieve $1000, credit in the end credits of the film, and 100% writers and 90% publishing cue sheet credit for a 2 minute foreground instrumental usage.

The Composer Collective has been assigned to create the music for a documentary set in Papua in Indonesia, titled "Laughing With Pigmies".

TCC is reviewing Digital Performer 5 for consideration on future projects and workstations. If anyone has any opinions, helpful comments, or would like to beta test the platform, please step forward and respond.

The Composer Collective has been assigned to create the music for the film project "Skeletons In The Desert", with lead composer and project manager Evan Evans.

The Composer Collective project"JACK RIO", has been completed, helmed by lead composer Evan Evans, supervising seven of our members who acted as sub-composers. Screenings were held in Beverly Hills for cast, crew, and executives, and there were ample comments on the Score. Many asked "who did the music for this?".

Joe Mattzie has completed Music Editing on Evan Evans recent project "The Poker Club".

Saho Kim recently completed Score Preparation and Score Supervision on composer Evan Evans film, "The Poker Club".
